Introduction
Technical SEO forms the foundation of a website’s visibility in search engines. While high-quality content and relevant keywords are essential, search engines must first be able to access, understand and index a website correctly.
The purpose of this technical SEO analysis is to evaluate the current technical performance of caledonia.dk and identify any areas that may impact its visibility in search results. The analysis focuses on URL structure, broken links, website security, page speed, mobile friendliness, SEO tools and indexation.
SEO-Friendly URLs
One of the first things I looked at was the website’s URL structure. SEO-friendly URLs are important because they help both users and search engines understand what a page is about before visiting it.

To check the security of caledonia.dk, I verified that the website uses HTTPS and has an active SSL certificate installed. This can be confirmed by the secure connection and valid certificate shown in the browser.
An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between the website and its visitors, helping to protect information that is transferred online. Although caledonia.dk is a portfolio website and does not handle sensitive customer information, maintaining a secure website is still important from both a user and SEO perspective.
Based on this analysis, the website meets the basic security requirements expected of a modern website.
Page Speed and Performance

One possible reason for the lower mobile score is the use of images and visual elements, which can take longer to load on mobile connections. Despite this, the website achieved strong scores in Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO.
Based on these results, improving mobile performance is something I would continue to work on as the website develops.

As more users browse websites on mobile devices, it is important that a website functions well across different screen sizes. Google also uses mobile-first indexing, meaning the mobile version of a website plays an important role in search rankings.
To evaluate the mobile experience of caledonia.dk, I tested the website on both desktop and mobile devices. The layout automatically adjusts to different screen sizes, and the navigation remains easy to use on smaller screens.
Overall, the website provides a good mobile experience. Visitors can easily access content, navigate between pages and interact with the website without needing to zoom or scroll horizontally.
Sitemap and Indexation
For a website to appear in Google’s search results, it first needs to be crawled and indexed. To support this process, I connected caledonia.dk to Google Search Console and reviewed the website’s sitemap.
The sitemap is automatically generated and provides search engines with an overview of the website’s pages. This makes it easier for Google to discover and index new content.
To check whether the website had been indexed, I used the search query “site:caledonia.dk” in Google. The results showed that Google has already indexed several pages from the website, which indicates that the website can be found and accessed by search engines.
During this process, I also discovered an older URL that no longer exists on the website. This demonstrates how Google can continue to display previously indexed pages even after changes have been made to the website structure.
Overall, the website appears to be indexed correctly and is set up to support future growth and optimisation.
Responsive Design
Responsive design is an important part of modern web development because users access websites from a wide range of devices, including desktops, tablets and smartphones. A responsive website automatically adjusts its layout to fit different screen sizes, helping to ensure that content remains accessible and easy to use regardless of the device being used.
Although responsive design and mobile friendliness are closely related, they are not the same thing. Responsive design focuses on how a website adapts its layout across different screen sizes, while mobile friendliness focuses on the overall user experience on mobile devices. For example, a website may technically be responsive but still provide a poor mobile experience if buttons are difficult to press, text is too small to read or navigation is difficult to use.
To evaluate the responsiveness of caledonia.dk, I viewed the website on different screen sizes and devices. The layout adjusted automatically, and the content remained readable and accessible without affecting navigation.
Based on this review, the website appears to be responsive and provides a consistent experience across different devices.
