Email Marketing
Introduction
As part of this assignment, I developed an email marketing setup using Klaviyo. The objective was to create a newsletter signup experience and an automated email flow that supports relationship building, engagement, and website traffic.
Email marketing remains one of the most effective digital marketing channels, allowing businesses and personal brands to communicate directly with their audience. Through automation, relevant content can be delivered at the right time, helping strengthen relationships and guide subscribers through the customer journey.
Newsletter Signup
The first step was creating a newsletter signup form on my website and integrating it with Klaviyo. The signup form allows visitors to subscribe to receive updates, insights, and content related to digital marketing, web design, personal branding, and my journey as a marketing student.
The form was designed to be simple and accessible, requiring minimal information to reduce friction and encourage signups. Once a visitor subscribes, they automatically enter the welcome flow.
Welcome Email
The first email is sent immediately after subscription and serves as a welcome message.
The purpose of the email is to:
- Thank the subscriber for joining.
- Introduce the purpose of the newsletter.
- Set expectations for future content.
- Begin building a personal connection with the subscriber.
The email follows a clean and mobile-friendly design and reflects the visual identity of my website and personal brand.
Follow-Up Email
Three days after subscribing, subscribers receive a follow-up email focused on LinkedIn and personal branding.
Rather than being promotional, the email provides practical value by sharing three simple tips for improving a LinkedIn profile. The content is designed to educate and engage the reader while directing them to additional content on my website.
The email includes clear call-to-action buttons linking to:
- My LinkedIn & Personal Branding page.
- My LinkedIn profile.
This supports both website traffic and personal brand development.
Automated Email Flow
The email flow was created in Klaviyo to automate communication with new subscribers.
The flow consists of:
- Newsletter signup
- Welcome email (sent immediately)
- Delay of 3 days
- Follow-up email about LinkedIn and personal branding
The purpose of the flow is to gradually introduce subscribers to my content, provide value, and encourage further engagement with both my website and LinkedIn profile.
