Off-Page SEO
What is Off-Page SEO?
Off-page SEO refers to the activities that take place outside of a website but still influence how search engines evaluate and rank it. While technical SEO and on-page SEO focus on improving the website itself, off-page SEO focuses on building authority, credibility and visibility through external signals.
In this step, I have explored how external links, social media and professional platforms such as LinkedIn can support a website’s online presence and strengthen its SEO performance.
External Links
External linkbuilding refers to the connections between your website and other websites or online platforms. This can include both incoming links, where another website links to your content, and outgoing links, where you link to relevant and trustworthy external sources.
These links help strengthen credibility, authority and visibility online. Incoming links can act as recommendations in Google’s eyes, while outgoing links can support your content by providing visitors with additional information from reliable sources.
Examples of external linkbuilding implemented on my website include:
- A link from my LinkedIn profile to my website.
- A link from my website to my LinkedIn profile.
- External links to relevant and trustworthy sources, such as Virksomhedsguiden’s SEO guide.
Future Opportunities
In the future, I can strengthen my off-page SEO by sharing content from my website on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms. I can also build relationships with professionals and organisations that may reference or share my content. Gaining more relevant external links can help increase my website’s visibility, credibility and authority in search engines.
As I continue to expand my portfolio and publish new content, there will be additional opportunities to create meaningful connections between my website and other trusted online platforms. Over time, these external signals can help strengthen my professional online presence and support the long-term growth of the website.
